Okay I had someone bitch at me earlier tonight because I spoiled them for who won American Idol. It's a real tragedy that I told them Taylor won before they could hear it from Ryan Seacrest. I just don't know how they will manage to carry on after this devastating blow.
So the point of this post is, after getting bitched at by this person I started reflecting on the insane attitude people online have about spoilers. Yes it's nice to be suprised and I try to respect the no spoiler rules. I always cut for spoilers on my shows right after they've aired, except AI which is a reality show and I just don't think it's something that had to be cut. However some people just get so undone about it all. I was spoiled by someone online for the death in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I was a little upset at the time but I GOT THE FUCK OVER IT! I didn't bitch at the person who spoiled me, my world didn't come crumbling down because I heard who died before I could read it, it's just not that big a deal. Also I get annoyed by people who bitch about spoilers weeks after a show has aired, or a movie or book has been released. Just how damn long are we expected to wait? I've had people complain when I talked about something that happened in a show that ended years before. Where is the cutoff point?! It's all just so irritating and dramatic. So when it comes to people complaining about being spoiled remember this: My give a damn is busted. Got it? Good.
