jackiesjunkie who always makes me look good by fixing my mistakes and strokes my ego by telling me I don't suck.
He couldn't understand why he did it. He couldn't even understand why he even had wanted to do it. Buying Jon Stewart something for Valentines Day was the worst idea he had ever had. The fact that he had certain, wrong (oh so very very wrong) feelings about Jon was bad enough but to actually for one second consider admitting that to him was insane. And yet he had found himself sneaking into Jon's office and leaving him a little heart shaped box of candies and fleeing the building. He'd spent every moment since then terrified that someone had seen him and had told Jon about it. After their week long break had went by without any word from Jon, Stephen figured he'd gotten away with it. Jon would never know as long as Stephen didn't tip him off somehow. He knew the safe thing to do would be to avoid Jon altogether and resolved to do just that. However, five minutes into being back at work Monday, Stephen found himself walking to the Daily Show studio and straight into Jon's office. Before he could say anything his gaze fell upon the spot where the little box of chocolates had been. He was frozen, staring at the spot until Jon cleared his throat and asked Stephen if he wanted something.
"Oh, hey Jon. Have a good vacation?"
Before Jon could answer, Stephen said, "I did, especially Valentines day. That was great, me and the wife had a really, really good time, if you know what I mean. Oh yes, I had lots of good old heterosexual sex with my beautiful wife and it was great!"
"That's nice, Stephen."
"So how was your Valentines Day?"
"Fine."
"Nothing surprising happen?"
"No."
"Nothing? Not even before Valentines Day?"
"Um, well actually it's funny you ask. I found a box of chocolates in my office Thursday but there wasn't a card or anything. I asked Tracey about it but she said it wasn't from her. Then she started teasing me about having a secret admirer."
Stephen laughed way too loudly at that. "You having a secret admirer? Now that is just ridiculous. Ha."
Suddenly turning very serious Stephen said, "Clearly somebody must have intended that gift for someone else and put it in your office by mistake."
"I don't think so. I mean anybody who could get into my office would know it's my office."
Angrily, Stephen replied, "Oh okay, so everybody is hot for you then right? Oooh I'm Jon Stewart, I'm so irresistable!"
"I didn't say that..."
"Whatever, Jon. I can't believe that big head of yours can still fit through the door to your office."
And with that Stephen stomped off leaving a very bewildered Jon Stewart behind
